Determining Your Receipt Printer Interface Do I need a Parallel, Serial, or USB printer? What do you mean by interface? We are often asked by our customers what kind of interface does their current printer have as they are wanting to order a replacement, spare, or expansion unit. Here are close up pictures of each of the different types of receipt printer interfaces as you will find ON THE PRINTER. The cable that attaches to the printer will have a connection to matches up with one of these interfaces. While these pictures are the interface cards for Samsung series printers, they look similar on Epson and other printer brands. Most application require either the Parallel or Serial interface as the USB interface is not often used in POS applications.
