MMS
Version 5 Upgrade Features |
- The length of the product name has been increased to allow for
up to 50 characters.
- A new field has been added to the product record called Bulk Item.
If an item is marked as a bulk item, no matter what quantity of it
is sold on an invoice, only 1 will be added to the total number of
items that prints on the bottom of the invoice.
- Each product now has a manufacturer field. This is an optional
field and can be used along with the vendor to better control purchasing.
- You can now print out the product notes on any particular product.
Just retrieve the product from the Products|View/Modify menu choice,
select the notes tab, and press the Print button on that tab. The
name of the product, product number, and notes will be printed to
the printer you select.
- The product search list now can optionally display the product
barcode, retail price, cost, and/or distributor cost.
- MMS can now print barcodes on the bottle labels of products. This
is great if you have a particular vendor who does not print barcodes
on their items and you use a barcode scanner during customer checkout.
Vendor Changes
- To support the manufacturer field now on each product record, a
vendor can now be specified as a vendor only, manufacturer only, or
both.
- You can now select which customer is the default sponsor for a particular
vendor. This customer will automatically be set as the sponsor when
a customer is added to that vendor.
- Detailed contact information fields have been added to each vendor/manufacturer
record. These include name, address, phone, fax, email, and website
address.
Reorder Changes
- The reorder window now only shows outstanding items (those items
not yet received) for reorders that are still outstanding. A checkbox
allows you to see all items if needed.
- The vendor reorder text, discount, and default shipping charge are
now also displayed on the Reorder View window for quick reference
and changing.
- A shipment information tab has been added to the reorder window.
This allows you to enter the reorder carrier, tracking number, shipment
date, plus any notes for the reorder.
Invoicing Changes
- On the invoice window, you can press a button that will allow you
to print the products notes for one or more of the products that you
have added to the invoice. This allows you to easily give your clients
information on each item they are purchasing WITHOUT having to go
to another source to prepare this information.
- If you use a color full size printer to print receipts, you can
now set MMS to print negative numbers in red on the receipt.
- If you have the optional receipt printer, it will now print any
backorders for that invoice at the end of the receipt. Additionally,
you can optionally select whether customer invoice volumes print on
the receipt printer receipt.
- If you drop ship one or more items on an invoice, you can check
the new Drop Ship Message checkbox under the Print and Print Preview
buttons on the Invoice Line Items tab. For those item set as drop
ships, MMS will place an asterisk by the item quantity and a message
will print on the invoice stating that items with the asterisk are
being shipped separately.
- If you ship items to your customers, MMS now has optional integrated
tracking records available on each invoice record. The shipper, tracking
number, ship date, weight, and freight cost can all be entered. If
your computer is connected to the Internet, MMS can open a Internet
browser window to the specified shipper's website to show detailed
tracking information with just a click of a button.
- A cost basis field has been added to the products on the invoice
and is used in determining profit and loss in the updated invoice
summary report and inventory sales reports.
Customer Changes
- You can now designate if a customer shipping address is a home or
a business which is required by some shipping companies. Additionally,
the shipping address name field length has been increased to 35 characters.
- The bill-to and ship-to addresses of each customer now have a country
field available.
- If a customer of yours has a website, you can save their website
address on their customer record. Just enter it in the Website field
on the customer window. To go to the website, just press the Website
button next to the field and your Internet browser will open to that
site.
- You can search for payments of customers by entering credit card
or check numbers.
- Each customer now has a label flag checkbox called Include in Labels
on their main record and not just their vendor records. This flag
will be used when running a label report when you do not specifically
select a vendor.
- A customer information sheet can be printed from the customer administration
view window.
- Customer callbacks (reminders to call a customer back on a certain
day) can now be assigned to individual employees/users of MMS. This
allows MMS to only display callbacks for the default employee (or
logged in employee if using employee logins) and callbacks for other
users of MMS will not be displayed by default. You can see the callbacks
of other users at any point by selecting a different employee if needed.
- A refresh button has been added to the customer callback window.
If you or another user changes a callback on another window, just
press the Refresh List button on the window and you will see the latest
callback records.
Report Changes
- The invoice summary report has been enhanced to provide a profit
and loss area. This is done by subtracting the cost basis field on
the invoice products from the selling price of the product minus any
discounts given to that item.
- Inventory sales report has had Total Profit and Item Profit sort
criteria added to it. This causes the report to sort by the total
profit of each item or the item profit (average profit per sale).
Such information may be helpful in your purchasing or sales promotion
decisions.
- Customer label report has the first purchase date criteria fields
added to it. This allows you to run labels for new customers who purchased
within a given date range or other similar needs.
ECHO Credit Card Processing Changes
- If you use the MMS ECHO module for processing your credit card transactions,
you can now configure MMS to submit the transactions over the Internet
if your computer that you use MMS on has fulltime Internet access
(DSL or cable). The main advantage of this is that the credit card
authorization takes only about 4 seconds vs. 20-25 seconds via the
phone line. Another advantage is that you do not need a dedicated
phone line for processing the credit card transactions. This feature
does require EchoNet which ECHO charges a $25/year maintenance fee
for but, otherwise, there is no additional charge to use this new
feature.
NOTE: MMS version 6 will be released in May of 2007. Version 5 is no
longer available for purchase. Contact Sunshine Support with any questions
you have regarding this.
